NATIONAL CONSTITUTION CENTER RESPONSE REGARDING BAN ON PHOTOGRAPHY
Thank you for your interest in the National Constitution Center.
It is true that we cannot permit any kind of photography in the exhibit
halls, with the exception of Signer's Hall. The reason for this is that
we do not own most of artifacts that are on display. They are on loan to
us, and the lenders strictly prohibit photographs being taken for their
own rights and protection. (In a few cases, it is a matter of the flash
being harmful to the artifacts, but in most, it is not, which is why
even non-flash photos are prohibited.)
As I mentioned, Signer's Hall is the exception since we own that entire
exhibit. And there are other areas of the building itself in which
photographs are also permissible.
I hope this answers your question. Please feel free to contact me if I
can be of further assistance. Thank you again for your interest in the
National Constitution Center.
Sincerely,
Denise Venuti Free

Subj: National Constitution Center: Photos/Videos Verboten (!)
hi Dave:
Perhaps a sign of the times, I visited Philadelphia's new National
Constitution Center this weekend. I found their presentations very well
done and started to take some non-flash photos. I was quickly told
that
"photos were not allowed".
I posted the rest here:

The irony!
Best -
Jim
