Karl Rove as America's Mullah? Gimme a break!

Republicans suppressing hundreds of thousands of registered voters? Maybe they were just responding to Lyndon Johnson's exclamation in the cemetery when told a name couldn't be registered because it wasn't readable on the gravestone, "But this guy has just as much a right to vote as the rest of
these guys!"

Florida already has voting problems? What do you expect from a state that
has suffered four devastating hurricanes in the last two months? Not to
mention working out the bugs on the massive changes of its voting system.
Computers having glitches? Who would believe that?

Enough with the hysteria!

Don't let IP become the province of "true believers," who cannot tolerate
information that conflicts with their beliefs. This is true of both
parties, but it gets tiresome to see these rants in an otherwise interesting
listserve.

Update [2004-10-22 15:56:58 by DyspepTex]: AUSTIN FOR CHANGE |||
WWW.AUSTINFORCHANGE.COM It came to our attention and to the attention of
Dana DeBeauvoir, our County Clerk, that some people had cast straight
Democratic and when proofing their ballot saw a vote marked for Bush. To put
out the rumors: This happened to one voter and was corrected before the
ballot was cast. These are not machine malfunctions. However, human error can cause ballot errors. START EMAILING EVERYONE TO PROOF THEIR BALLOTS TO MAKE SURE THEY DID NOT MAKE AN ERROR. What happened in this case was human error and was not a machine malfunction. After pressing ENTER after marking Straight Democrat, some voters inadvertently turn the SELECT wheel one click through the ballot while meaning to go to the final "PROOF" page. If you hit enter at that point, your cursor is over the first candidate on the ballot: Bush/Cheney. So, the answer to this problem is this: TELL EVERYONE TO PROOF
THEIR BALLOT. If there is an error, page back and fix it and/or ask for
assistance in doing so. You must fix these things BEFORE you hit CAST
BALLOT. Glen Maxey Coordinated Campaign Organizer

It's actually getting worse - early voters in Texas are noticing that
even
when they vote a straight Democratic ticket, their choice for president
is...Bush/Cheney.
