Subject: "Fahrenheit 9/11" on Web to answer Sinclair anti-Kerry documentary?

Dave,

As you know, the right-leaning Sinclair Broadcast Group is telling
their network of 62 stations to air an anti-Kerry documentary prior
to the election.

FCC Chairman Michael Powell is refusing to touch the issue.
Former FCC Chairman Reed Hundt says that Powell is offering "tacit and
plain encouragement of the use of the Sinclair airwaves to pursue a
smear campaign."

"In Demand" pay services has suddenly dropped plans to air Michael
Moore's "Fahrenheit 9/11" on election eve -- triggering suspicions
of pressure applied from above. Sinclair has predictably not
responded favorably to Moore's reported offer to let Sinclair air
"Fahrenheit 9/11" on an equal-time basis.

With only days left before the election, I would urge Moore and his
associates to consider releasing at least a relatively
low-resolution, free-access version of "Fahrenheit 9/11" to the
Internet immediately. While contractual obligations may make such a
move complex, this might well be the only way to provide an effective
counterpoint to Sinclair's actions.
