From the Los Angeles Daily News -- Gasoline prices hit a record high
in Los Angeles on Friday, crossing $2.391 for a gallon of regular
unleaded and apparently headed a lot higher with no top in sight.
Not that this helps Losangelites or anyone else in the least, but just
for comparison, gas prices here are currently hovering around NOK 10.50
per litre.
Changed into US units that's a whopping $6 per gallon.
Now get this: Norway is a major producer and exporter of oil.
Most other European countries have gas prices closer to the Norwegian
than the US levels, some have even higher prices.
Here's a table made by CNN showing gas prices in various countries
around the world. Note that it was last updated in May, so prices will
be higher everywhere now:
