Senate postpones vote on file-swapping bill
In what appears to be a reaction to last-minute pressure from
opponents of a file-swapping bill, a U.S. Senate committee postponed a
vote scheduled for Thursday.
The Induce Act, which was scheduled for a markup in the Senate
Judiciary committee, is touted as a way to ban file-swapping networks
such as Kazaa and Morpheus--but a host of technology companies fear it
would imperil legitimate products as well.
