Did some Googling.

Harari is well-known, among physicists, for his "Rishon Modem"
(http://hepstructure.inr.ac.ru/hep-bin/findrefs.py?key1=833843), a concept involving subquarks he developed, in Israel, in the late 1970s and published
in 1980. The work was done at the Weizman Institute of
Science(http://www.weizmann.ac.il/), in Israel.

The Davidson Institute, created in 1999, is an extension of the Weizman
Institute
(http://www.weizmann.ac.il/acadsec/Scientific_Activities/current/ Davidson_ce
nter.html).

The institute is endowed by a $20 million grant from William Davidson, who
also owns the NBA champion Detroit Pistons
(http://slate.msn.com/id/2058595/) and the NHL champion Tampa Bay Lightning
(http://bolts.tbo.com/lightning/MGBYMDWB0VD.html).

So the claim, in this talk, that Prof. Harari is " the proverbial taxi
driver" is verbal sleight-of-hand. The image that comes to mind from that is
of an Arab immigrant driving a hack on a New York street. He's not that.
Harari is an Israeli endorsing is the worldview of Israel's Likud Party, and
given his background this is no surprise.

Let me be clear about this. Nowhere am I tackling his argument on the
merits. I'm not saying I agree with him or disagree with him. But it's
important, especially with something like this, that we have the full
context, a complete view of the speaker.
