PITAC INVITES YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN A TOWN HALL MEETING ON CYBER
SECURITY RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT
The President’s Information Technology Advisory Committee (PITAC)
invites you to provide input on the appropriate scale, scope, and
emphases for Federal investments and public policy related to cyber
security research and development. PITAC is chartered by Congress to
provide the President, Congress, and Federal agencies involved in
information technology research and development with expert,
independent advice on maintaining America’s preeminence in advanced
information technology. Additional information about PITAC and the
charge of its Subcommittee on Cyber Security may be found at

PITAC’s Subcommittee on Cyber Security is hosting a Town Hall Meeting
to solicit perspectives from members of the public on the current state
of cyber security and the future measures needed to help ensure U.S.
leadership in this area. The Subcommittee has developed a list of
questions to define the area of its particular interests. These
questions may be viewed at

The Town Hall Meeting will be held from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Thursday,
July 29, 2004, in the exhibition area of GOVSEC--The Government
Security Expo & Conference--at the Washington Convention Center.
Admission to the exhibition area is free, but registration is
required. To register, go to

Those who wish to make oral comments are asked to address one or more
of the questions from the Subcommittee’s list and to limit their
comments to three minutes. If you wish to be placed on the agenda to
speak, contact Alan Inouye at inouye@xxxxxxxx or 703-292-4540. Please
provide your full name, affiliation, e-mail or phone number, and the
general subject area for your comments. Written submissions will also
be accepted; contact Alan Inouye as indicated above.
The Subcommittee may ask follow-up questions of those offering oral
comments. As time permits, those who did not reserve a place on the
agenda will be invited to offer oral comments.
