SSAC Wildcard Report: A Report from the ICANN Security and Stability
Advisory Committee (SSAC) on Redirection in the COM and NET Domains has
been published.
SSAC, (Security and Stability Advisory Committee), a committee set up
after the events of 11 September 2001, to advise the ICANN community
and
Board on matters relating to the security and integrity of the
Internet's
naming and address allocation systems, and comprised of Internet
pioneers
and technical experts including operators of Internet root servers,
registrars, and TLD registries, today announced the results of its
review
into last year's change to the operation of the registry for the .com
and
..net Top Level Domains. Here are its findings:

In response to this report, Dr. Vint Cerf, ICANN's Chairman, noted:
"There
is no doubt in my mind that this is a very important document in the
history of ICANN".
