And CallerID DOES NOT get blocked for any 800 like services. So most of the advertised use is bogus

even pierce the veil of Caller I.D. blocking to unmask an anonymous
phoner's unlisted number.

This happens with landlines as well -- CallerID blocking does not
provide anonymity (depends who you call). For cell phones, I know
by experience that a CallerID blocked cell phone can, notheless,
advertise the number and the *name* of the caller to a common
user who has the proper, off-the-shelf, equipment.
