Today's NYTimes has two op-eds, one by William Fisher, one by Kembrew
McLeod, on alternative compensation models for content. Fisher talks
about
file sharing in the context of history of VCR, web radio, etc., while
McLeod talks about the EFF content licensing model. Neither are new
viewpoints; I am pointing to the op-ed because it is significant that a
major U.S. paper is giving these (anti-RIAA) ideas such coverage.
