Subject: TurboTax error on 2003 federal taxes
Yesterday I received a substantial, unexpected refund check from the
IRS.
The refund was due to an error in my TurboTax-generated 2003 federal
return.
Instead of picking up my itemized deductions from Schedule A, it
inserted the much smaller standard deduction on my Form 1040.
I regenerated the return, running the check function twice, and it
produced the same output.
So... if you used TurboTax to generate your 2003 Form 1040 and had
itemized deductions greater than the standard deduction, you might want
to double-check your return to make certain the number on Line 37 of
Form 1040 matches Line 28 of Schedule A.
Regards,
KGB
