Publisher Asks Federal Court to Declare that Online Bets Are Legal,
Protected Speech
Michael Rossides, publisher of BetPress.com, has filed a complaint in
the
U.S. District Court of Arizona asking for a Declaratory Judgment that
bets
are a form of speech protected by the First Amendment.
The complaint (CV'03 2527PHX JAT) was filed on December 22, 2003, and
can
be seen at

The Defendant is John Ashcroft, in his official capacity as Attorney
General. Ashcroft?s answer to the complaint is due on June 28, 2004.
