Subj: Microsoft showing its true colors ... Again

According to this BBC article, "SP2 will check the product ID number for the
copy of XP in use on a PC and will not let itself be installed if that
software is a version that has been widely pirated." (The 20 most pirated
numbers.)

For a little while, I thought Microsoft finally was doing a responsible
thing by allowing any and all users of WinXP (legitimate or pirated) to
install the major security update in XP SP 2. :sighs: But, true to form,
the company again decides that its business interests (eg, profits) should
never, EVER take a secondary priority to something as important as .... (for
example) the good of the Internet. How very typical.
