Re: [ga] Re: [Politech] Dick Cheney's domain name misstep

It's fun watching Jeff trying to frantically backpedal out of GETTING IT ALL WRONG, claiming a 15 point lead but unable to back it up with any evidence at all of where this 15 points came from.

Let's sum up the thread so far...

1. Jeffie blames Soros for failing to control who links to his site. Here's his quote, since he selectively edited it out of the thread...

I didn't say that George Soros registered factcheck.com, but
he or whomever his webmaster allowed the link to georgesoros.com,
which George is responsible for I assume...

2. Andy points out that such a thing is impossible to do.

3. Jeffie replies with...

Of course it is very possible to stop any link to any other web site
and/or domain name Andy. I thought you knew that... I guess I was
mistaken that you did..... Shame on me! :/

4. Andy points out that Jeffie might be thinking it's possible by checking the (entirely optional and easily forged) HTTP_REFERER header.

5. Jeffie, horrified that himself, the much beloved "CSO/DIR. Internet Network Eng. SR. Eng." of the imaginary "Network data security IDNS. div." of the imaginary "Information Network Eng. INEG. INC." has just been proved to know very little about the HTTP protocol, tries to deflect attention to his serious error by belittling MY intelligence.

6. Andy, not being one to let idiocy be left to fester unaided, remind Jeffie that he's avoiding the question...

how you can identify what website link someone has visited your
website from, apart from the optional HTTP_REFERER header.

7. Finally Jeffie admits it is impossible, but rather than admit in public he was wrong, claims that this has distracted the thread, calls my question irrelevant on more than one level (any guesses what those levels are?) and then claimed HE'S educating ME. Laughable.

8. Satisfied that I have shown Jeffie up for the charlatan that he is, I claim victory.

9. Jeffie, appears to see things differently - perhaps he went to the same maths class as George Bush? - and claims that HE was proved right and I wrong. Then he comes out with the completely bizarre, meaningless sentence ( again much like his hero GWB would)...

As I do not have a specific web site or Domain
Name there is no blocking involved. Hence you again have made a
error. Try again Andy...

OK. It's clearly time that Jeffie's doctor made some changes to the medication levels because little Jeffie's clearly not firing on all cylinders right now. A shame that someone who claims to be an Internet expert can even get a grasp of the HTTP protocol.

Duped any newbie journalists lately, Jeffie?

I think this display of Jeff's technical incompetence deserves a spot in the "Jeff Williams FAQ" (249 hits for that phrase at Google).

  No Andy 0 Jeff 15+

Again you misinterpreted what I said. That much is very clear in this
now distracted thread. As I do not have a specific web site or Domain
Name there is no blocking involved. Hence you again have made a
error. Try again Andy...

Exactly. They can't. Finally an admission.

Andy 1, Jeff 0

But thank you for playing.

Next time you should admit you've screwed up BEFORE digging a deeper
hole for yourself.

I for one and glad to read you are. I also join you
and I believe many others in this endeavor.

So, since I am a slow learner, but willing to try, how about you tell
me how you can identify what website link someone has visited your
website from, apart from the optional HTTP_REFERER header.

They can't. However this distraction from the original thread
subject line, was not about how they can, but how they can be
blocked from doing so... Hence your question is irrelevant
or more than one level, but answered regardless for your
further education and understanding...

I'm pretty sure others on the forum would also like to hear?

Andy and all,

Sorry again Andy, I just have two very nice biscuits. >:)
And sorry again also as your being yet again assuming
in your response. I was in no way referring to HTTP_REFERER.
So as you say, nice try but no go again...

But I encourage you to keep learning and working... Someday
you'll get it. And also remember your not the only slow learner,
there are others that suffer from that infliction. Thankfully I am
not one of them...

To or from?

Is Jeffie labouring under the misapprehension that all browsers send
HTTP_REFERER information?

Nice try, but no biscuit.

Hmmm. You obviously need to get one of your 134k+ INEGroup member
to
explain to you in simple words how it is impossiblt to control who
links to your website.

Never assume, because it makes an ass out of Jeff.
