1) Name, country, profession, email address: Bret Fausett, United States of America, Attorney, <fausett@xxxxxxxxxxx> 2) Experience with At-Large Structures/groups addressing user issues: Worked with Association of Internet Professionals in early days of ICANN to present proposal on the structure of the Domain Name Supporting Organization. Contributed to ICANN and the DNSO/GNSO since its inception by following ICANN's work, commenting on proposals, and participating in working groups and task forces. Served on ICANN's first Nominating Committee. Served on the GNSO's first task force (Deletes Task Force) to use the new "Policy Development Process." 3) Involvement in ICANN issues relevant to individual Internet users: >From my perspective, all of my involvement in ICANN has been from the point of view of an individual Internet user. I've also provided an ICANN-related weblog since November, 2000 designed to provide information to the Internet community about the various things that ICANN was working on. It's less relevant now than it was when I started it -- since ICANN is much better about providing the information itself -- but the focus of the weblog has always been about getting information to the users. I also initiated the recording of DNSO Council meetings in MP3 format to provide the user community a window into the ICANN decision-making process. 4) Involvement in activities relating to the DNS and the Internet's infrastructure: See 2 and 3 above. 5) Experience with group decision-making and consensus development: Currently serving on the Board of Directors (and as Secretary) of the Glendale Unified Schools Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) private foundation designed to build public-private partnerships between the Glendale, California public schools and the private sector. Also served on ICANN's Nominating Committee in 2003 and various ICANN task forces. 6) Demonstrated commitment to the goals and bylaws of ICANN and the ALAC: See above. 7) Other relevant social, professional experience: I've been married for the last 16 years, and I have three children ages 6, 4, and 3. I engage in group decision making every day! |
