Denise, thanks for your response Thanks for your note. I
think we share the clear expectation that in the new bicameral voting model
Council structure adopted by the Board, the new Stakeholder Groups will play a
fundamental role in seating Council representatives. Thanks,
that is good to hear. not intended to be
prescriptive in any way. Rather, they provide (long overdue) material to
allow any interest group to take advantage of the ICANN Bylaw directives
regarding the creation of new constituencies. Indeed!
They would have been quite helpful and appropriate in the 2004-5 time frame. In light of your note, I
do see that Section 6.0 of the New Constituency template entitled "GNSO
Council Representation" could be confusing and should be amended to
reference a Stakeholder Group's role. Yes,
that section in particular was the one that triggered my note. Thanks for
clarifying that this needs to be amended to reflect the new situation with SGs.
This puts a lot of issues to rest. If we have any other specific comments or
proposed amendments we weill send them along. --Milton |
