VULNERABILITY SUMMARY:
A potential security vulnerability in Java(TM) Web Start on HP-UX
may allow elevated privileges.

SUPPORTED SOFTWARE VERSIONS*:  ONLY impacted versions are listed.
Java Web Start on Java 5.0.0 release only.

BACKGROUND:

A vulnerability in Java(TM) Web Start allows an untrusted
application to elevate its privileges.  For example an
application may grant itself permissions to read and write local
files or execute local applications that are accessible to the
user running the Java Web Start application.

There are no reported attacks based on this vulnerability.

AFFECTED VERSIONS

NOTE: To determine if a system has an affected version,
      search the output of "swlist -a revision -l fileset"
      for an affected fileset or patch, then determine if a
      fixed revision or applicable patch is installed.
