VULNERABILITY SUMMARY:
A potential vulnerability has been identified with HP-UX Java
Runtime Environment (JRE) where an unprivileged remote attacker
may be able to exploit a Denial of Service (DoS).

SUPPORTED SOFTWARE VERSIONS*:  ONLY impacted versions are listed.
Java 1.4.2.02 and earlier (T1456AA (JDK 1.4), T1457AA (JRE 1.4))

Note:  Java 1.2.X, 1.3.X and 1.4.1.X are unaffected.

BACKGROUND:
A vulnerability in the Java(TM) Runtime Environment with character
decoding may allow an unprivileged remote attacker to cause the
Java Virtual Machine to become unresponsive resulting in a
Denial-of-Service (DoS) condition for the runtime environment and
servers that run on the runtime environment.

The following is a list by HP-UX revision of affected filesets or
patches and fix information. To determine if a system has an
affected version, search the output of
"swlist -a revision -l fileset" for an affected fileset or patch,
then detemine if a fixed revision or applicable patch is
installed.

There is no workaround.  Manually update to Java version with th
