totalnic / pacnames
Dear Sir
I am writing with respsect to the takeover of TotalNic
registrar by the company called PacNames.
I understand that no notification has yet been given
to ICANN of the changes.
I have been trying to get a domain transfered away
from totalnic for several months but, as I am sure you
are aware, they are extremely difficult to deal with,
almost impossible to transfer away from because of
onerous and spurious conditions, and there are a LOT
of people who are complaining.
Since I found out that totalnic had been taken over I
have written to the new registrar at the contact
address given on the totalnic.net web site, but I and
many other people who have also written have had no
response.
There is a very strong likelyhood that the new company
is only a 'blind' to avoid impending legal action
against totalnic. If that be the case it is highly
likely that the new owners will not be any more
reponsive to transfer requests than totalnic was.
I find it intolerable that for years ICANN has
continued to let this very public situation with
totalnic / pacnames continue under the control of
people (the owners of the company) whom it is clear
have no intention whatsoever of abiding by any of the
rules of the game.
I require a definative response from ICANN as the
accrediting body in respect of clarifying:
1) Who are the new owners of the totalnic business?
2) What is the position of the new owners with regard
to transfer requests?
3) What is ICANN's standpoint with regard to the
specific problems mentioned in this email.
Please respond as a matter of some urgency.
Best Regards
Lusi
